Description

"Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand and interact effectively with others.  It involves effective verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to note distinctions among others, sensitivity to the moods and temperaments of others, and the ability to entertain multiple perspectives. Teachers, social workers, actors, and politicians all exhibit interpersonal intelligence.  Young adults with this kind of intelligence are leaders among their peers, are good at communicating, and seem to understand others’ feelings and motives.” -The Nine Types of Intelligence

And at last it’s Mabel’s time to shine! XD I absolutely adore Mabel’s character because it’s so different then the usual people-smart type you see in cartoons. Mabel is a bright, caring individual who can easily understand and relate to others and can often read people like a book and figure out exactly what they need. Despite what a lot of fans seem to think as far as her social life at school is concerned, I imagine that Mabel’s actually one of those people who’s popular for all the right reasons; meaning, because she’s nice and other’s like being around her. It was certainly eluded to in episodes like Double Dipper and Irrational Treasure that people in general like Mabel more then girls like Pacifica (which is likely why Pacifica felt so threatened by her), and Alex Hirsch mentioned before that Dipper is secretly jealous of how social Mabel is and how easy it is for her to make friends.

Speaking of, please feel free to ignore the two dorks in the shadows who do not know how to human. XD

Dani never really learned to communicate with others beyond lying to them to get what she wanted, and she usually avoids the general public when she can because the ghost power thing tends to freak people out. She’s not shy or awkward the was Danny is, she just never really got the chance to learn how people work or how you’re supposed to talk to them, since she was in Vlad’s lab pretty much her whole life and can count the number of successful human interactions she’s had on one hand. And still have fingers left over. She’s never really had a burning desire to fit in or be popular either, the way Danny has, and due to Vlad’s influence she has a bad habit of looking down on regular people a lot as blind idiots.

Dipper is only marginally better at being social then Dani is. Marginally. He’s very much an introvert and tends to stick to himself a lot, though he does crave recognition and approval in a way that Mabel kind of doesn’t. Dipper’s got a bad habit of showing off when he thinks he can do something and to it well because he wants to impress others. He wants them to think of him as cool and smart and brave, which is a big part of the reason why he’s so eager to get proof of the existence of various monsters in Gravity Falls. Not because he’s interested in learning more about them, but to prove that he’s right so that people will think he’s awesome and brilliant. When it boils down to it though, Dipper is uncomfortable meeting new people a lot of times and prefers to just stick with the ones he already knows he likes rather then trying to make any new friends.

from this, I've made two conclusions: 1) Dani would be TERRIBLE at overshadowing/possession (since that requires knowing how people work, if you know what I mean) and 2) Mabel is likely going to be the one to plan Dipper's birthday party, and his graduation ceremony, and his wedding, and...well, you get the point
